Quality assurance
Why is quality assurance especially important for translation services?
"Translator" and "interpreter" are not protected job titles in Germany. A membership of a professional association for which certain preconditions have to be met is neither compulsory for translators and interpreters. Therefore there are many suppliers without any qualifications on the market which often only advertise with their mother tongue fluency - but a good native speaker is not automatically a good translator!
How does GS Translations assure the quality of translations?
- "Mother tongue principle", i.e. we only translate into the mother tongue, when translating into a foreign language the text will be proofread by a native speaker
- Successfully completed university studies as translators
- Excellent fluency in spoken and written in all working languages. The language skills have been consolidated through several stays abroad.
- Regular advanced vocational training
- Quality assurance according to BS EN 15038 "translation services - service requirements".
- Use of a translation memory program
- "Four-eyes-principle", i.e. every translation will be proofread by a second person
- Member of the BDÜ (German translators' and interpreters' association)
